Monument to The Buzzed

Space is reconfigured through a process in which images are extracted from public drone footage of Gaza and then reconstituted photogrammetrically. Cut together from distant war zones, then virtually relocated and imposed on present construction zones, the virtual merges with the actual; inside blends with outside, and ideological contradictions and distortions are writ large.

 

This work was presented as a virtual reality experience at The Advanced Research Centre at The University of Glasgow.

 

The 3D scan of the room interior used in this work was created by the International Committee of the Red Cross – Switzerland.
